With births, deaths and animals moving out and coming in, the number of individual animals in the Zoo changes frequently. As at 30 June 2006 there were:

Amphibia - 65 individuals, 11 species

Arachnids – 21 individuals, 6 species

Birds - 470 individuals, 81 species

Mammals - 372 individuals, 62 species

Reptiles - 377 individuals, 42 species

This makes a total of 1,305 individual animals and 202 species on site at Perth Zoo.
